
Dr. Rana Jawaad Asghar
Dr. Rana Jawad Asghar is a physician-epidemiologist and CEO of Global Health Strategists & Implementers (GHSI). A key advisor to Pakistan’s Ministry of Health and the WHO, he shaped the nation’s early COVID-19 response. He is one of only six Pakistanis selected in seventy years history of the prestigious U.S. CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service and established Pakistan’s Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP). His expertise in pandemic preparedness is sought by global organizations like the Asian Development Bank and WHO. With a background that includes roles at Stanford University and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), he holds an adjunct professorship at the University of Nebraska and an MPH from the University of Washington. He writes regular Op-eds and appears in both domestic and international media.
