Aqil Shah is the author of ‘The Army and Democracy: Military Politics in Pakistan,’ and has conducted extensive research on political and security affairs in South Asia. His work has been published in journals including International Security, Foreign Affairs, Journal of Democracy, Asian Survey, and more. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University and an M.Phil in International Development from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
