Shaezmina Khan
Shaezmina Khan serves on Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal’s foreign policy team on Capitol Hill, focusing on issues of American foreign policy, national security, defense, and diplomacy. In her role, she has contributed to legislative efforts addressing a spectrum of challenges, including the civil war in Sudan, the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the reauthorization of the State Department, and democratic backsliding in Pakistan, among other international issues.
Before joining Congresswoman Jayapal’s team, Shaezmina worked at the intersection of policy and international affairs, holding positions with the European Commission in Brussels, the Afghanistan War Commission, and the United Nations Democracy Fund.
Shaezmina holds a Master’s in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford, where she studied under a full Rotary International Scholarship. While at Oxford, she served as Chief of Staff at the Oxford Union, one of the world’s most renowned debating societies, and hosted and debated alongside international figures such as Rt. Hon. Humza Yousaf, Kishore Mahbubani, Bassem Youssef, and Secretary Julián Castro. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Global Affairs from Yale University, along with a Certificate in Human Rights from Yale Law School. At Yale, she served as Executive Director of the Yale International Relations Association, the university’s largest student-run organization.
